About Gayndah

The Oldest Town in Queensland

First Settled in 1849 and the oldest town in Queensland, Gayndah is the historic centre of the Burnett.

Gayndah provides a friendly, safe and thriving community and we believe that for our visitors, Gayndah provides a unique travel destination.

Being situated on the banks of the Burnett River allows for a variety of activities such as swimming, fishing, boating and water skiing, which are popular pastimes for local residents and visitors.

Gayndah provides a range of businesses to its residents, from agricultural enterprises to accountants.  The ANZ Bank and National Australia Bank provide banking services along with a Wide Bay Australia and a Suncorp Metway agency.  Gayndah has two Primary Schools (a public and private), a High School and a TAFE College.  There is also a private Primary School, Kindergarten and two Childcare Centres.  There is a Hospital, Ambulance, Police, SES and a Fire Brigade that provide emergency services to the region.

Clubs and societies in Gayndah include an RSL, QCWA, Lions, Rotary, Freemasons and Senior Citizens and many more.  These organisations are active and take on projects for the improvement of the community.

If you would like more information about visiting the Gayndah please feel free to give us a call here at Gayndah Real Estate. We look forward to your call.
